Arlewood
Estate
A twisting road
through about a kilometre of bush in Willyabrup leads to the vineyards
of Arlewood Estate, a little piece of Paradise and the creation
of Liz and John Wojturski.
Situated on
the gravelly loams for which the Valley is famous, Arlewood is just
a shouting distance from Ashbrook,
Vasse Felix
and Cullen Wines, and there is no doubt that this location is now
producing some of the finest wines the Margaret River Region has
to offer.

very popular for its fresh, clean zesty aroma with touches of newly
picked limes. Pristine fruit flavour, dry and flinty, very mouth
watering with lovely fruit on the middle palate.
|
|
Shiraz 1994
Deep
colour. Very classic varietal aroma of white pepper and a touch
of oak spice. Quite dry but powerful flavour, with a firmness in
the mouth of a deep, maturing red wine.

Redgate
Wines
Redgate owner
Bill Ullinger worked as an engineer before he decided to turn his
hand to producing wines. We are glad he did.
Planting of
the vineyard, which is several kilometres south of Margaret River,
began in 1977 and the wineries produced consistently good wines.
The best of
these is the Cabernet Sauvignon, which has won a swag of national
and WA awards, beginning with the prestigious 1984 Montgomery Trophy
at the Adelaide Show for the 1992 Cab. Sav.

1994 Bin 588 Cabernet
This delightful
wine is composed entirely of Cabernet Sauvignon. Sweet berry fruits
are integrated with spicy vanillan oak, soft tannins and a minty
undertone. Although drinking well now, it will also cellar well.
|
|
1996 Chenin Blanc
Ripe passionfruit
aromas fill the nose, backed by a delicate grassy undertone. The
palate is soft, dominated by pineapple and tropical fruits which
leads to a vibrant citrus finish.

Semillon 1991
This is an excellent
dry dinner wine with complex Margaret River fruit characters, some
astute wood treatment and the magic five years maturity. Could still
age further for the more mature palate.
|
|
1993 Cabernet Sauvignon
A rich,
full-bodied cool climate dry red table wine, typical of the powerful
Margaret River style. It has been aged in a combination of French
and American oak barrels. Excellent on those cool winter nights!
