It is safe to
say that Eddie Price is not alone in his choice of favourite Margaret
River wine. Many believe it to be the best chardonnay in Australia.
We could even consider going global here!
"Being
a kind of freak for the barrel fermented style, I would have to
say the Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay is my favourite," said
Eddie. "Year for year, it is a consistently a very good wine.
I'm not sure, but I think my favourite vintage is either the 1986
or '87. But they are all of an amazing standard."
Here is a white
that is elegance personified, with rich citrus, pear and melon aromas.
There's a very subtle nuttiness on the palate and a spicy oak nuance
that grows with age. This is the wine that first showed the world
that Margaret River could be the source of great Chardonnay. It
still leads the pack.
