Happs Wines

The Happ family is a producer of table wines under two labels 'Happs' and 'Three Hills'.

Inspired by the 1960s promise of great potential in Margaret River wine, the Happ family has steadfastly pursued that objective since 1978.

It describes itself as “explorers of the unknown and lovers of diversity”. The winery boasts the largest range of wines and styles found in the region. The wines (including the Preservative Free) are “a peerless illustration of the value of diligence informed by science in the process of fine wine making”.

The story of Happs Winery, Three Hills, and Happs Pottery is a tale of the passionate, innovative and entrepreneurial ventures of Erl and Ros Happ, their family, and those who have been inspired by their leadership and vision over the last 40 years.

Happs Wines are produced from grapes grown on two estates – the first in Dunsborough, where the winery and cellar door is located, and the second called Three Hills in Karridale, 90 kilometres to the south. Both are within the Margaret River region that stretches from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin. Dunsborough was planted from 1977 and Three Hills from 1994.

Karridale is highly favourable to quality outcomes across a wide range of grape varieties, having possibly the most versatile climate in the world for wine grapes.

The Three Hills label is reserved for the best wines from the best years from Happs Wines’ Three Hills vineyard.
