Woodside Estate

Woodside Wine Logo Inspired by the French voyages of discovery to map the Australian coastline (1801-1803) led by commander Thomas Nicolas Baudin, principal Peter Woods and his dedicated team undertook their own joint expedition to discover something truly individual and unique. Defying accepted expert opinion south facing slopes were planted in the Gunyulgup Valley, a well-defined valley running north from Abbeys farm road less than 5 kilometres inland from the coast and developed from a farm purchased by Peter Woods in 1998.

The first vines on the Meelup (Eagle Bay) Estate were established eighteen years ago, with plantings of Semillon, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Additional plantings of Shiraz and Semillon were established during 1997 and more recently a 2001 planting of Zinfandel. The estate is comprised of some eighteen hectares of vines set amongst the ridges and valleys that surround the winery.

Woodside Valley Estate has combined the best elements of tradition and innovation to create a collection of individually handcrafted, yet distinctly Margaret River in origin wines that reflect the care and attention to detail taken at every step between the vineyard and the table. Pride, passion and purpose - a true representation of Woodside Valley Estate. Pride in our Margaret River origins, a passion for wine and the West Australian wine industry and purpose, to create truly iconic and individual wines from the best fruit the northern Margaret River has to offer.
