This wine is our latest release and again was made using traditional small batch fermentation techniques. Gentle hand plunging together with some pumping over was carried out during the 8 - 10 day fermentation. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in both tank and barrel. The wine was then aged for 17 months in a mixture of French barriques.

The resultant wine shows similarities to the 2001 Merlot with the colour being a vibrant ruby and the nose exhibiting cedary notes as well as a mix of dark fruits. The palate has great length of flavour, is soft and very approachable. Good mid palate weight highlights the good use of oak and the ripe fruit characters showing through. Again the tannins are evident but soft and ripe.

This release is again very typical of the Merlot style.
